The Bunwell Oak
Our Story
The Bunwell Jubilee Committee first met in late 2021 to plan an event to commemorate Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee. A historic 70 - years on the throne. It was decided to hold an event at Bunwell Village hall and playing fields. Mike suggested that we plant a commemorative Oak and Ali made us all aware of The Queen's Green Canopy. There was no backing out by that point!

Traditionally, ships were built of Oak timber. Because of this: the Royal Navy's march is called 'Heart of Oak'.
